You'll need to jump into the bathtub in the regular-sized version of the House and open a wall panel to reveal a small tunnel leading to a metal electrical panel. Opening this reveals a looping underground parking lot which leads into the Airport lounge. Upon return to the House, head upstairs and jump into the filled bathtub.

Once downloaded, unzip the contents into a folder somewhere on your computer. The map's giant concrete labyrinth appears to be directly inspired by House of Leaves, a documentary novel by Mark Z. Danielewski about an endless, constantly-changing labyrinth inside a family's home. The sign that appears in the empty lot after the House disappears says "Navidson Realty - For Sale". In the novel, Navidson is the name given to the family who own the house. There appear to be six levels to the staircase that endlessly loop on themselves. Traveling up the stairs takes you to various exit doors which all have different behaviors.

This is the first of sixteen "artifacts" you will find. Icons denoting eight of these artifacts will appear on hanging pictures in the House's living room as the artifacts are found. Upon picking up the Pop, another door to a new room in a black-and-white Bauhaus architecture style will suddenly appear just opposite.

At first it seems like a typical My House WAD with a lot of Doom cute details, but it evolves into something so much more amazing. It's one of the most emotional & haunting maps I've ever played. I just had a feeling of melancholy as I progressed through the map interspaced with moments of true terror as the horror elements ramped up.

John and Ruth Sowden, for which the house was originally built, were artsy Hollywood folks who liked to party. Therefore, Lloyd Wright, who had been designing sets for Paramount Studios at the time, indulged their desire for the theatrical. Designed in 1926 by renowned architect, Lloyd Wright, the Sowden House is a meticulously renovated 6,000 square-foot neo-Mayan mansion in the heart of modern Hollywood.
Also continuing from where @Not Jabba left off, I found a bit more details but not anything too groundbreaking. This is noticeable when you beat the first level and go into Underhalls, everything feels extremely small. Also, Doom Launcher lists this .pk3 as having 33 total maps. I haven't noticed anything changed with Underhalls besides the map feeling small. I don't believe it's possible to get the Soulsphere fairly, since it's clearly intended as a red herring to pull you outside.
Continue walking to the right from the black tile to reach the platform with the Wedding Ring, artifact number eleven. Approaching the front door causes a new door to suddenly appear on the top floor, next to the door to the master bedroom. This door leads into a sitting room containing a can of Pop you can pick up.
Even though he played for an hour, Romero didn't manage to chew through MyHouse.wad's entire maze of secrets. The mod features a sprawl of alternate paths and secret doors, and one was so tricky it even took Doomworld's users tons of collaboration to figure out. Its creator, Veddge, had never put anythingup in the community and had barely been active for the past 15 years.
MyHouse has a professional level of sound design to rival P.T. Taken all together, this sparkling technical mastery of horror makes you slowly realize something. The map explores themes of isolation, nostalgia, grief, mental unrest, childhood trauma and existential horror. In terms of its various approaches to architecture, it seems to take direct inspiration from Internet creepypastas and the concept of liminal spaces to provoke unsettling feelings in the player. When playing this map, all cheats are effectively disabled on all difficulties, with the exception of god mode and noclip. The music here is great, from the slightly edited version of d_runnin that gives off the first hints that something is amiss to the fully ambient track of the brutalist sections of the map. My only gripe is that the progression was a little bit confusing at times, jumping into the bathtub was the biggest roadblock for me. Overall though I got to say that this is a must play wad & it will certainly be in my top 10 list at the end of 2023. By the end of the brutalist section, you should have eight of the known artifacts, with two more to go in the airport bathroom.
Doom was scary in the same way a Megadeth poster was scary, but MyHouse reimagines Doom’s legacy as a horror game. The pervasive atmosphere of dread in this MyHouse will not allow you a moment’s rest, and the language of shooters will not help you. Whether or not you have played Doom (and you really should, it can be played onpotatoes), you know Doom. You’ve seen the Marine in the green helmet shootingdemons. The sound of the shotgun and thegrunt of creatures being mowed down by a gatling gun lives in our subconscious.MyHouse warps these memories. In MyHouse you run into creatures that do not exist in Doom — that don’t, as far as I’m aware, exist in any other WAD.
